Haka stalwarts Te Huinga Waka, are the third NSW group to explode onto the stage today.
Making their debut in 1988, Te Huinga Waka have competed in many Aotearoa national competitions, now known as Te Matatini, with the 1994 festival in Hawera being their most successful to date.
Like many of their haka peers residing in Australia, their desire to foster and uphold Māori tikanga and nurture the younger generations within Māori culture, was the foundation for the group's creation.
This year their male leaders are Cameron Dudley and Joshua Simons, their female leaders are Renee Stevens and Ashley McLeod, and the head tutor is Ngarongoa McLeod.
