Anti child abuse protests across the country

Protesters taped their mouths closed to portray the helplessness of young child abuse victims.

Although the protest was silent, the message was clear these people have had enough of adults abusing children.

As protests were held, former teacher, James Parker was again taking the stand in the Kaitaia courthouse on sex abuse charges.

Despite the court hearing happening miles away from Auckland,

it wasn't hard to see the frustration of these protesters. In Whangarei, more marched for the same reason, joined by groups in Hastings, Wellington and Canterbury.

No doubt, it's a long road ahead for those who have been tainted by abuse.
