Weepu named in ABs' travelling squad

Piri Weepu has been named in the All Blacks' squad to travel to Argentina and South Africa over the next two weeks and replaces Wellington's injured halfback TJ Perenara.

Veteran player Piri Weepu was named in the All Blacks squad after TJ  Perenara suffered a stress fracture in his lower left leg.

Weepu is currently in Wellington with a sick child.

Shortly after Auckland beat Northland 41-10 last night at Eden Park, he returned to Wellington to be with family.

Seven weeks ago, Weepu's test career looked like it was over, with the test veteran replaced by rising halfback star Perenara, and Steve Hansen openly admitting that only an injury would see Weepu return to the fold.

Weepu and the All Blacks will now focus on the task ahead against Argentina.

The team will assemble in Auckland tomorrow afternoon and fly out to Argentina.
