Vivian Te Mana Hahipene has been appointed CEO of Te Whānau o Hato Petera Trust. The appointment was made last night at Te Kamaka Marae at Hato Petera College in Auckland.
Vice Chairman Rudy Taylor says Mr Hahipene brings all the skills and expertise needed for the role, along with a belief in the kaupapa of the trust and its vital role in the school.
Mr Hahipene says, “My role as CEO of the whanau trust is to co-ordinate the boarding school staff and my immediate job is to seek expressions of interest from those who would like to be considered for the role of house parents for our boarding pupils."
Taylor says the renovated boarding hostel is now ready for the arrival of this year's group of students. He's proud of all those who have worked hard to bring the building up to standard.
"All the raruraru of the past is now over and the whanau trust eagerly awaits the final sign off from the Ministry of Education.
We have met with the MOE this week and are meeting with the Bishop today and we are hopeful of full support so we can welcome back our boarding students for the 2016 academic year,” Taylor says.
