Early start to lamb tails

An unexpected early lambing season has got lamb-tail fans licking their chops.

The season doesn’t usually begin until October but some farmers along the East Coast have asked for their lambs to be docked and Gisborne's Syndise Smith said nothing could hold her back.

“It’s raining down here but there's always a way to get your first batch on the fire.  We look forward to this every year as they’re so yum,” Syndise says.

Lamb-tails are a delicacy for many and Gisborne based Syndise said she managed to dock 250 tails for her first cook up.
