He’s one of Maoridom's most recognisable faces on the field, and on the box, but Glen Osborne is turning his hand to become one of the newest faces on the beat.
The 44-year-old former All Black fullback has gone back to school in an attempt to boost his numeracy and literacy skills.
He wants to apply to become a police officer, and for the 29-test veteran, it’s not the fitness requirements of the Police that scares him, it's in fact the written aspect that is the biggest challenge.
Osborne says, "I needed to learn to write descriptively and accurately using the right legal language.”
He jokes that while at Whanganui's St Augustine’s College, he only managed to gain 13 percent in English for School Certificate.
"I needed help to up-skill my writing so I could confidently write formal reports,” says the Whanganui native.
