Māori actors successful at Festival des Antipodes in France

The New Zealand film The Dark Horse, featuring Cliff Curtis has won the Grand Prix at the St Tropez-based Festival des Antipodes in France.

Whirimako Black also took out the award for best actress for her role in White Lies.

The judges of the festival, led by producer and actor Bryan Brown, consisted of film journalist Franck Finance-Madureira, Belgian actress Natacha Régnier; French actress Stéfi Celma; and French actor Philippe Caroit.

The festival ended yesterday and the awards were handed out to the successful recipients over the weekend.
