Despite the sad loss of a family member, Ngā Uri o Tamarau have qualified to take the Te Matatini stage next year.
Paora Richards (33) died just last week after gathering seafood, the team performed their hearts out in his honour.
Placing second overall, they look forward now to the months of preparation for next year's nationals.
