Te Wharekura o Te Rau Aroha represents the Tainui rohe and Ngāti Hauā and was established in 2007 by Mokoro and Tiaho Gillett.
Tutored by Mokoro and Tiaho Gillett and Hoera Kereama, this is the group’s first time on the national stage.
Today, they are led by their kaitātaki wahine, Ana Pounamu Tahatika, and kaitātaki tāne, Keirepa McLean.
Here is the group’s waiata ā-ringa, which is dedicated to Te Heikōkō Mataira, a pillar of Kura Kaupapa Māori and Te Ātaarangi.
