Pt Chev Pirates to face Mt Albert Lions in Fox Memorial final

The Fox Memorial Competition is in its last week, with number two and number three on the competition table battling it out for a place in the final against the Mt Albert Lions this weekend.

No.2 Papakura Sea Eagles were no competition for number three Pt Chev Pirates with the Pirates easily winning 22-0.

This year, Papakura have beaten Pt Chev twice in the competition.  But the Pirates seem to have learnt from their mistakes, scoring the first try of the match.

The Sea Eagles were missing a valuable player, their hooker Terrence Phillips to injury.  That was seen when they couldn't quite make the try line.

The Sea Eagles came close to scoring on many occasions.

The Pirates made it look easy, scoring another try just before half-time to lead 10-0.

It took 22 minutes into the second half for the Pirates to score once more.

With 10 minutes to go in the match, the Pirates scored their fourth try to secure their place in the final.

The Sea Eagles tried to get cross the line but the opposition's defence was too strong.

In the end, the Pirates won 22-0 to book their place in the final in the hope of winning this competition for the third consecutive time against the Mt Albert Lions.
