Kataore is a Ngāti Pikiao-based group which was formed in 2009 to provide a positive environment for their tamariki and whānau.
As a whānau, they hold a strong focus on upholding their Ngāti Pikiao and Te Arawa customs and protocols.
Last year, Kataore made their national debut at Te Matatini after qualifying as one of six groups representing Te Arawa.
This year for the regional competition, Kataore had requested that no recording (for online use) was made of their performance.
