The Independent Police Complaints Authority has found, police were right to shoot and kill Anthony Ratahi in 2011.
Ratahi who'd taken his former partner, Marcel Beer hostage at the Headlands Hotel in Opunake was killed instantly when a member of the Special Tactics Group shot him through the eye.
