Former All Blacks hooker Hikawera Elliot is to make a stunning comeback to Super Rugby from a severe neck injury to rejoin the Chiefs for the 2015 season.
Elliot will replace Nathan Harris in the squad. Harris damaged his left ankle and is expected to be out of rugby for six months.
Elliot was ruled out of the Super Rugby season this year, doctors say he failed to recover from a neck injury suffered in the Māori All Blacks match against Canada.
