Tributes are flowing around the world following the passing of All Blacks Rugby legend Jonah Lomu, aged 40.
John Mayhew, a former doctor for the All Blacks confirmed in an interview with TV3 that Lomu had died unexpectedly this morning.
Lomu had struggled with health issues after being diagnosed with Nephrotic syndrome in 1995. He underwent a kidney transplant in 2004.
The power of the Tongan winger standing at a whopping 6 foot five inches tall was recognised early in his rugby career after debuting as an All Black in 1994.
Lomu was inducted into the International Rugby Hall of Fame in 2007 and the IRB Hall of Fame in 2011.
